Top 5 Highly Anticipated Games To Look Forward To In 2025

2025 has officially arrived which means we are going to get plenty of new games to enjoy on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Among the highly anticipated games to release this year, Grand Theft Auto VI is up there, but there is a lot of speculation if it will even be released this year.

We are going to list the Top 5 Highly Anticipated Games to look forward to in 2025. 

#5 – DOOM: The Dark Ages

DOOM: The Dark Ages from id Software and Bethesda Softworks was first announced in June 2024. It’s a single-player, action FPS prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. The epic cinematic origin story DOOM Slayer is set to release in 2025.

A release date has not been revealed yet, but DOOM: The Dark Ages is planned to release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

#4 – Borderlands 4

Borderlands 4 from Gearbox Software and 2K Games is another game to look forward to in 2025. The mayhem-fueled looter shooter, jam-packed with billions of weapons, and outrageous enemies is going to be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 this year.

A release date for Borderlands 4 has not been revealed yet.

#3 – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

The wait for Metroid Prime 4 has been as bad as Grand Theft Auto VI, especially if you are a big fan of the series. In 2024, Nintendo finally gave the first look at Metroid Prime 4: Beyond which is planned to release in 2025 on Nintendo Switch.

It’s also speculated that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will come to the Nintendo Switch 2 when it releases this year. 

#2 – Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom starts off 2025 strong with Monster Hunter Wilds, the story of monsters and humans and their struggles to live in harmony in a world of duality. Monster Hunter Wilds will release on February 28, 2025, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. 

#1 – Grand Theft Auto VI

There’s no question that Grand Theft Auto VI tops the list of highly anticipated games in 2025. GTA 6 follows Grand Theft Auto V which was released in 2013 and takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, based on Florida and its Miami-inspired Vice City. 

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have said the game is expected to release in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. So far we have only received one trailer for the new GTA.
