Ubisoft has had a tough time with Assassin’s Creed Shadows since it was revealed. The game has seen a couple of delays since it was originally planned to be released in November 2024 and was pushed to February 2025 but was delayed slightly to March 20 for further polishing.
Assassin’s Creed fans have been curious as to how the game will be when it releases. Over the last week, it was revealed that across the world there are physical copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows being sold early. Videos have started to spread online of the game and of course, it includes bugs that Ubisoft has patches planned for.
Ubisoft released a statement on February 24, 2025, that they are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release.
“The development team is still working on patches to prepare the experience for launch and any footage shared online does not represent the final quality of the game.
Leaks are unfortunate and can diminish the excitement for players. We kindly ask you not to spoil the experience for others”
They continue suggesting fans stay in the shadows, avoid spoilers, and keep a lookout for more updates.
While Assassin’s Creed Shadows is not planned to be released on Xbox Game Pass, Ubisoft expects to have more pre-orders although their revenue is dipping more than 30%.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows releases on March 20, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
