This week, news broke out over the evident popularity surrounding Mediatonic’s Fall Guys. In that, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled the August PlayStation Plus free title to being the most installed client in the history of the subscription service’s lifespan. The game was also discovered to break the 17-month streak held by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered which was featured back in March of 2019.
Howbeit, with the bubbly online-focuses title set to leave the platform’s free lineup of titles in favor for next month’s roster, players on opposing systems sit anticipating for when the game will arrive to other hardware. Primarily Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, those consoles are left in the dark as of now.
But, it looks that at least one of the units has already uncovered the support for Fall Guys. That being Xbox One, Twitter user @thethiny shared a screenshot of the game’s source code disclosing the Xbox One version is already underway.
Best told by Reddit poster u/ronbag who shared the post on Twitter, they reference that the significance of the Xbox One being in the source code is directly listing the feature for the hardware determining which controller is assigned to a specific user – which Fall Guys evidently supports. But despite the finding less than a month since the arrival of the game, it does not determine a close release of the game as most would hope.
Looking at Rocket League, which like Fall Guys also featured a PlayStation 4/PC unique launch and stayed that way for more than half a year. So in theory, there is an agreement established by Sony to keep the game only available on PlayStation 4 for at least half a year. It wouldn’t be well into 2021 that a forecast for Fall Guys on Xbox One, as per speculation. And publisher Devolver Digital will of course be consistent with a Nintendo Switch version as well.
