Over on the PC front of things for Microsoft, the Xbox firm is still discovering new ways to improve the experience for users on that realm of the industry. With Xbox Game Pass featuring its own version for the platform already, Microsoft previously pledged to deliver improvements later on this year and acted on that. Additionally, the firm went on to assert that the service is to blame for more than 10 million users logged into Halo: The Master Chief Collection as well.
As for more initiatives for the platform and other within the Xbox ecosystem, Microsoft CEO recently stated the firm is “all-in” for the gaming market. Already, we witnessed grander additions with the welcoming of Windows 11 this fall and more is to be expanded upon with Cloud Streaming also another feature coming to the Xbox PC App as well.
Alongside the Windows Store expanding its flexibility with other storefronts like Epic Games Store and Amazon, users will find to be put first for the platform with more opportunity to enjoy the platform. Recently, Microsoft shared in an update video that the platform is to include mod support and additional flexibility updates to the platform. You can watch the video below:
The major announcement from the recent video expands on native mod support for games available through the Windows Store. By extension, this also includes the coming feature for users to organize games in any folder on their machine. Not only will this ease how mods will be used, but download speeds are also said to improve as well.
Speaking to The Verge, Microsoft insists on making the Microsoft Store its go to for users on PC. “With great PC games like Back 4 Blood, Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite on day one with Game Pass, we wanted to provide players with more options to customize their experience in the Xbox app. We’ll continue to share updates as we launch additional features,” Partner Director of Experiences at Xbox Jason Beaumont told.
