In the long-running titles that continue to thrive over on Microsoft’s platform, there are a limited number of games that can be listed. Of course, there is Minecraft, however, that is an acquisition the Xbox company made well into the blooming success from Mojang Studios. Namely, Sea of Thieves is a great example especially following its recent achievement of welcoming well beyond 20 million users since launch in spring 2018.
Howbeit, one noteworthy title is still lingering – Halo: The Master Chief Collection. While approaching as a stain on the platform, 343 Industries with countless updates and fixes proved to turn the overall experience into a positive connotation. Even with the series concluded with Halo 4 previously in fall 2020, the team is still making marvels with the game currently.
Even more with the addition of cross-platform play as well, players have flocked to the game in masses. In a statement from Microsoft, the 2014-released anthology is told to surpass more than 10 million players, and Xbox Game Pass for PC is to blame.
There are also millions of people opting to use their Xbox Game Pass membership to play. We launched Halo: The Master Chief Collection at the end of 2019 on the PC as part of Xbox Game Pass for PC; since then, over 10 million players have played it, with the vast majority of them being brand new to the franchise.

Microsoft elsewhere in the Xbox Wire post also discloses its ambitions to further pursue new improvements for Xbox Game Pass for PC. While still early in the year, the Xbox company is eager to resolve the lingering issues and improve on where it is most needed, of course. As for new Halo news, Halo Infinite is told to feature cross-play and cross-progression coming at launch for the game later this fall.
To reiterate on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, 343 Industries recently pressed on its possible endeavor for the game. While a custom game browser is the main priority for the Halo developer, mod support is also suggested to be another avenue to travel through as well later on.
