In the past year, Sony has proven to be making exponential progress on delivering for its video game film division, PlayStation Pictures. For one example, the approaching Tom Holland Uncharted film has already concluded filming as the project now moves on to post-production. Additionally, the cast for the upcoming The Last of Us HBO series already casted Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal for the lead duo, Ellie & Joel respectively.
But, the projects do not stop there. Elsewhere recently, PlayStation Pictures when speaking to Variety revealed that the previously reported Twisted Metal TV show just recently picked up Deadpool & Zombieland writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. And now, it appears a new production surfaced in a recent report that arrived on Thursday.
According to Deadline, the exclusive report discloses that John Wick director Chad Stahelski will be helming the position for a coming ghost of Tsushima motion picture. Stahelski alongside Alex Young and Jason Spitz will produce on behalf of 87Eleven Entertainment while both Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan will produce under PlayStation Pictures.
We’re excited to be partnering with Chad and 87Eleven Entertainment, to bring their vision of Jin’s story to the big screen. We love working with creative partners like Chad, who have a passion for our games, ensuring we can create rich adaptations that will excite our fans and new audiences.

Notably, developer Sucker Punch Productions are also told to be involved in the coming film adaptation. Deadline adds that the Washington-based studio will stand as executive producers for the production, but does not reference which team members will be hands-on with the movie. More interesting is that the report also shares that Ghost of Tsushima has now exceed 6.5 million copies sold – four million more than at launch.
In other news regarding coming PlayStation Productions projects, The Last of Us series’ producer Neil Druckmann shared that the coming show will be an adaptation of the first game. But, some episodes are to spin in a new direction unfamiliar to players of the 2013 game. You can read the full report by heading here.
