CD Projekt Red Earnings Report Shares Next-Gen Cyberpunk 2077 Update Ship In Q122, The Witcher 3 Update Arrives Q222

Although the hype did not maintain the momentum for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 following the outrageous performance of the game on last-generation hardware, developer CD Projekt Red is still aiming to deliver on its promise for next-generation versions of the game & The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Previously, both updates for the sci-fi RPG and fantasy open-world aimed to deliver the respective patchwork in the second half of this year.

However, CD Projekt Red later said that is not the case. In a follow-up from the Polish game studio, late 2021 was projected for the updates to ship. But even then that was still overly ambitious for the team to meet that promise. Later in a separate statement told that 2022 is when players can expect the major enhancements to drop for both games.

Now during the recent earnings report for CD Projekt Red, both titles received more approximate release windows for the updates. In Q1 2022, Cyberpunk 2077 is to get its enhancement while The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gets its own in Q2 2022. You can view the slide in the image below:

In the same release from CD Projekt Red, the developer reveals that workflow for new projects has steadily shifted over the course of this year. Back in late December 2020, the developer emphasized its muscle on improving Cyberpunk 2077. Now by September 30th this year, CD Projekt Red has transitioned more on the expansion for the release.

More recently, CD Projekt Red unveiled that it has acquired another game studio in North America. This time, the Polish firm has purchased Drake Hollow developer The Molasses Flood based in Boston, Massachusetts. The team is to continue its work alongside other tasks handed by CD Projekt Red.
