Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 Versions For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt & Cyberpunk 2077 Pushed To 2022 Release Schedule

Although the state of Cyberpunk 2077 initially launched to potentially devastate the integrity of the release and trust in CD Projekt Red, the Polish developer following its release went head-on with the complaints and made a roadmap for fixes coming to the game at the time. Additionally, the developer noted that there will be a next-generation version for the title planned to ship in fall 2021 later on.

As time continued onward, the game studio went on to press a similar enhanced version of the game is scheduled to arrive for 2015’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as well. So while the team relinquishes plans for a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077, the developer stacks on a separate project instead for its most successful release instead. In a later earnings call for CD Projekt Red, the team presses the two games are aimed for late 2021.

However, there is some uncertainty as to if these projects are still capable of releasing in 2021 at all. In a new statement from CD Projekt Red, the team is still working to deliver its promise, but, that will not happen this year. Instead we are to expect sightings of these games as early as spring 2022 now.

“CD Projekt S.A. wishes to provide an update regarding its publication schedule for 2021 as concerns the release of dedicated versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for next-gen consoles,” the team writes in the press release then. “The Management Board of the Company hereby announces that, based on recommendations supplied by persons supervising development, it has decided to allocate additional time to both projects.

“The Company currently intends to release the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 in the first quarter of 2022, and the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the second quarter of 2022.” So although expectations were to be met for this year on both, the developer decided to divide the work into more spaced out launch windows for each version respectively.

Previously, CD Projekt Red pressed on the newer version for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. For that to be the Complete Edition of the game, the game studio shared to be adding more content. In that, add-on DLC based off the titular Netflix TV series is also to be delivered upon release. You can read the full report by heading here.
