For Nintendo Switch owners who have been hungry for new and anticipating games to arrive to the latest platform from the Japanese console giant, your wait might be on the way according to a recent finding. Discovered on Hong Kong-based retailer Instant Gaming, there new listings have emerged on the website which might get fans excited to own a Switch.
One of these listings happens to be the long-anticipated announcement of Metroid Prime Trilogy. Although the game has yet to properly be introduced for the system by Nintendo, industry insider Imran Khan has previously nodded to the fact that the collection of games are virtually finished dating back to 2018. As for why Nintendo has yet to ship said bundle, it is only expected that the firm is waiting for the right moment to capitalize on the release.
Following the most expected of the three is Capcom’s recently released Resident Evil 3 Remake and 2K Czech’s Mafia II: Definitive Edition. Both come as a monumental surprise for fans as both are expected to be graphically demanding games for the Nintendo Switch. Mafia II for the time when releasing nearly a decade ago shows to be a striking impression on players with its visual presentation of Empire Bay, the game is expected to be even more with the respected rerelease being a remaster.
As for the Resident Evil 3 Remake, that is an entirely different story since the game is a complete reimagining of the titular 1999 title. Perhaps this addition is to Nintendo Switch would be filler for the eShop since the original game is not available? The same can also be said for last year’s remake for Resident Evil 2, but then where is the listing for that then? Returning to Mafia II, upon initial listing for the game on Rating Board out east, there were no references of a Switch versions which also raises an eye.
According to the three listings, Metroid Prime Trilogy is the only title expected to ship later this year: the remaining listings project a launch the following year in 2021. Although there is not much faith in a simple listing from a Chinese retailer, the only corroborating proof is for Nintendo’s bundle. According to an ongoing rumor that surfaced back in November, Metroid Prime Trilogy was slated to arrive this year. The claims made as of yet has been accurate with releases like Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.
