
Like most avid users within the video game sphere, no one can forget the release of Cyberpunk 2077. Despite the amount of excitement that shrouded over this game, the state of it which plagued Xbox One & PlayStation 4 has not been forgotten. Enough so that the firm planned to shift all its post-launch plans in favor to undo the damage.
Not only that, but even canceled anticipated projects as well. In a later update made in 2021, CD Projekt Red revealed its plans to proceed with a multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077 has been halted indefinitely to prioritize its resources where it benefits most. Ultimately, the firm is still adamant in making this a new household IP. In a statement, the firm expressed that it is not giving up on the series just yet.
In a new announcement this week, CD Projekt Red revealed the first story expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:
“Get ready for Phantom Liberty — a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in an all new district of Night City,” the brief synapse for the new add-on reads in the trailer’s description. As for what this will bring is new characters, story, and likely new weapons as well. One concurring aspect is Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand is also making a return for the new experience.
Additionally, CD Projekt Red shared that Cyberpunk 2077 is receiving a new update this week. With Cyberpunk: Edgerunners releasing on Netflix later this month, the team decided to add new themed items and weapons.
