Electronic Arts And Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force To Collaborate For New “Great Hunting Game” In New Publishing Deal

Over the past few months, Electronic Arts has announced quite a few collaborations are underway with different property holders. Just this week, the publisher announced its plans with Marvel & EA Motive to work on a new Iron Man title. Currently, the game is said to be in early pre-production, but will likely fall under the moniker of an AAA title similar to Motive’s Dead Space Remake & Star Wars Squadrons.

Additionally, the firm is also responsible for three new Star Wars games. In that, Respawn Entertainment is said to be helming a sequel for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new first-person shooter, and a real-time strategy experience. It was this summer that the Titanfall developer revealed Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which is coming sometime in 2023.

According to a recent press release, Electronic Arts is also collaborating with Koei Tecmo on a new experience unique to the publisher’s previous repertoire.

Building on the incredible success of EA Originals, which includes the recent releases of It Takes Two and Knockout City, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the amazingly talented Omega Force team. They’ve elevated the hunting genre to the next level, merging their proven talent for combat gameplay with unexpected and innovative mechanics. We can’t wait to introduce their groundbreaking new adventure to the world later this month.

Jeff Gamon, EA Partners General Manager

“It’s an honor to be partnering with EA Originals and to have the support of a team with such an incredible track record of releasing groundbreaking new games. The EA team fully embraces our creative independence and have become invaluable partners offering both development and publishing support,” says Koei Tecmo Executive Vice President Yosuke Hayashi.

“Adding the global resources of EA with our own will help us introduce a new kind of hunting game to a global audience of players and expand our reach into global markets. I’m really looking forward to the day that gamers from around the world can play this new game.” While Omega Force is noted for its work in the Warriors franchise, it is uncertain how parallel this new project will be to its previous work.

Similarly, Microsoft is reported to be involved in a similar relationship with Certain Affinity. According to a report from Video Game Chronicles, the support developer is said to be conjuring a new Monster Hunter-like experience which Microsoft is footing the bill for.
