Somewhere far, far away fans are aware that the Star Wars license is taking a sharp turn for the better over the past year. Thanks to Lucasfilm Games, the beloved franchise is getting a mass amount of opportunity in terms of video games. Such as the upcoming open-world project from The Division 2 developer Massive Entertainment for instance.
Additionally, this also includes the anticipated reveal for the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Following the success of the 2019 title, it is likely a follow-up is to tail behind. Thankfully, Electronic Arts confirmed the game is underway alongside two other projects. Atop of that, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb also mentioned a reveal to take place sometime before this coming summer.
While May the 4th came and went with no reveal, this only leaves Star Wars Celebration to fill that pocket of hope. And it did deliver with the official teaser for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. You can watch the cinematic trailer in the video below:
“Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy. Accompanied by his trusty companion BD-1, Cal will meet and ally himself with an array of unique and interesting characters on his journey.”
The overview for the game continues, “Jedi: Survivor will expand on the series’ dynamic combat in new and innovative ways. In order to survive, Cal must learn new skills and grow his connection with the Force.” Noted, the game is also confirmed to be a next-generation title with it listed solely for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
“Millions of Star Wars fans have been captivated by the story of Cal Kestis, and we’re thrilled to be working with the world-class developers at Respawn to continue this epic tale,”Lucasfilm Games vice president, Douglas Reilly said in the press release. “We could not be more excited to reveal Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and this next chapter of Cal Kestis’ journey with players around the world.”
In other recent video game news regarding Star Wars, it was shared that the upcoming Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake is to be a timed exclusive. Originally, it was perceived to be unique to PlayStation 5, but the addition reveals the game is only on the platform for a limited time before migrating to Xbox.
