On THQ Nordic’s continued pursuit to reassure fans that Dead Island 2 is in development, eager followers patiently waiting could sample an early build of the game. This past week, users online have managed to discover a build of the game and have shared screenshots of the build available. At the time, there were also recorded footage of the coming games as well, but have been removed shortly after picking up traction.

It was reported that the build that was uncovered initially sprouted attention on a messaging board on 4Chan and is completely playable. It should be noted that the demo is from 2015 with dated, placeholder assets found throughout, but it is ultimately legitimate. The build in particular is one from Yager Development prior to the team abandoning the project in 2015.

Twitter user @JHardington was nice enough to spare some screen captures of the game from the discovered build as original footage posted were removed.

The latest detail on Dead Island 2 erected this past April when current developer Dambuster Studios posted a job listing for an Art Director position. What gave away the project involved is one segment of the description which asked for an individual interested to “bring the dead to life.”

However, while fans have found more of the initial game on the internet, it is unsure if the general basis of the title is still intact or different after going through two other development teams. Following Yager Development exiting, Sumo Digital picked up development until the game was abandoned later on. It wasn’t until this past August that THQ Nordic disclosed in a financial report that Dambuster Studios is now involved with the development with Dead Island 2.

What are you hoping to see about Dead Island 2 in the coming future?
