It is no big secret that Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most impressive theatrical releases for a video game film to date. Previously, it was reported that the live-action motion picture surpassed the year’s prior Detective Pikachu in its opening weekend. So it is expected a follow-up is to start brewing as soon as possible.
Last year, voice for Sonic the Hedgehog of the first film Ben Schwartz hinted that the second movie is planned to ship later on in April 2022. While not much else is shared on the coming production at the time, it happens to be a real juicy drop for the project. Later on, Paramount unveiled the official title for the movie to be ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’ earlier this year.
Atop of filming also hinted to commence this past March, fans grow excited to hear more about the second film in the series. In a new tweet from director Jeff Fowler on Twitter, filming has officially concluded in Hawaii.
Additionally, potential information on the coming motion picture appears to be leaking on social media a few weeks back. At the time, images lingered across the internet which reveals what might be evidence that both Tails & Knuckles will be in the second film too. Furthermore, other leaked elements also hints at some Sonic Adventure DNA as well which further ignites excitement for patient fans.
As for recent news for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, voice actor Roger Craig Smith announces his return to the role. While originally voicing the character for more than a decade, Smith shared to be stepping away from the position. However, he later revealed to be taking on the helm once more.
