Marcus Lehto, previously Halo and the recently released Disintegrated is now moving over to Electronic Arts. In a tweet made back in October, Lehto announced that he will be moving over to the Seattle studio over at Electronic Arts to work on first-person shooters for the firm. The northwest division is currently helmed by previous Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor lead Kevin Stephens that was founded back in May this year.

Over the past year, Lehto has faced uncertainty with his prior venture, V1 Interactive. The firm was founded for a new IP, Disintegrated. However, it was in November last year that the game would shutdown its online services – less than half a year since the title shipped. Additionally, Lehto and the entirety of V1 Interactive in March officially closed shop for the game studio.

In terms of what project Lehto will be pursuing under this new wing at Electronic Arts is left unknown, it is certain his experience within the industry will not be put to waste. As we already know, he is the co-founder for Microsoft’s Halo franchise alongside creating the Destiny-like Disintegrated which offers a satisfying experience for users familiar with the genre.

At Electronic Arts, the firm continues to embrace veteran developers at its studios. Namely Vince Zampella: former Infinity Ward founder went on to open Respawn Entertainment that kicked off Titanfall and the ongoing Apex Legends. Currently, Zampella is also overlooking Ripple Effect Studios that is responsible for Battlefield Portal for Battlefield 2042.

Additionally, former Halo developer Kevin Franklin was also embraced under Electronic Arts previously as well. In that, his team at First Strike Studios shipped arena shooter Rocket Arena. So for Lehto going to Electronic Arts is a continued campaign for seasoned minds to join its ranks.
