FPS Boost Branches Over To Support Xbox Backwards Compatible Titles For Xbox 360 With 30+ New Additions

While keeping an eye at some of the explicit hints being made for the then-approaching Xbox Anniversary Celebration livestream *ahem* Halo TV series & Halo Infinite multiplayer, there was also speculation for more to come in terms of legacy releases for Xbox. Previously in a report from TrueAchievements, claims suggested more backwards compatibility titles will be released on Monday.

Additionally, eagle-eyed Twitter users uncovered an abundance of listings for Xbox/Xbox 360 titles coming soon which includes Red Dead Revolver. Manhunt, Max Payne 1 – 3, and Star Wars: Clone Wars. However, there is also hope FPS Boost will make an appearance as well. The last addition came with Dark Souls 3 back in July in a solo update before.

During the presentation, Microsoft announced that legacy titles will now be welcoming FPS Boost to Xbox 360 starting on Monday. In that, 30+ titles from that era of Xbox now support up to 60 frames per second. You can read the full list below:

Microsoft goes on to press that Xbox backwards compatible titles will also support resolution enhancements based on your platform: “4x resolution increase on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X; 3x resolution increase on Xbox Series S; 2x resolution increase on Xbox One S and Xbox One,” Xbox Compatibility Program Lead Peggy Lo writes.

Not only is Xbox 360 titles receiving FPS Boost, but also xCloud titles as well. No more will this feature only be unique to console, but also cloud streaming as well. We already witnessed Microsoft implementing console-exclusive features for other platforms with auto-HDR coming to PC with Windows 11 in the past.

Elsewhere during the presentation, the Xbox company showcased more than 70 titles from Xbox & Xbox 360 make its way to the Xbox backwards compatibility initiative. However, this marks that last and final increment of titles, the firm confirms. You can read the full report by heading here.
