After the success of both remakes for Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3, everything pointed towards Capcom to finally jump to its most popular entry in the series – Resident Evil 4. And by spring this year, Resident Evil 4 Remake officially arrived to modern hardware. Among the other big releases this year, it did obtain nominations for Game of the Year & Best Audio Design.

One of the biggest highlights for Resident Evil 4 Remake is that the game also received its own DLC, ‘Separated Way’ back in September. And, it also confirmed the VR update for the game is also aimed to ship soon after. Yes, a virtual reality update is on the way; which Capcom confirmed to be a free install for PlayStation 5 owners.

This week, Capcom confirms that the VR Update for Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming next week on December 8th. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“To recap, Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is a free DLC for Resident Evil 4, and on its release on 12/8, it will allow you to experience the main story of the game using PlayStation VR2. […] In VR mode, you will dive into the game’s world and face crazed villagers, huge creatures, and battles against Leon’s ultimate nemesis with a level of intensity that cannot be experienced on a traditional display.”

Capcom U.S.A. PR manager Kyle Burleson continues,” In addition to stunning VR visuals, 3D audio increases your immersion even further, making you feel as if you are right there in the game. The same development team who brought you the incredible full-length VR experiences of Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil Village have worked to make a truly immersive VR Mode using the latest technology. All of the weapons from the main story are represented in incredible detail and with intuitive controls to ensure you remain immersed at all times.

“In addition to these controls, the Sense controllers offer haptic feedback which feels unique for each weapon, be it a pistol, submachine gun, rifle or even combat knife. Combined with the intuitive feel of aiming and shooting in VR, the combat experience is more visceral than ever before. Of course, outside of combat scenes, all the classic Resident Evil puzzle-solving gameplay you’ve come to expect is present in VR.”

This month, Resident Evil 4 Remake is also making its way to The App Store for both iPhone 15 Pro & iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can read the full report by heading here.
