Funimation Announces Promotion With Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Offering Two Free Months Of Premium Plus

Ever since the inception of Xbox Game Pass in 2017, the game streaming service surely has evolved primarily due to how malleable and beneficial the Netflix-esque platform is for consumers. With that, it has also introduced new collaborations to join forces with the service since then. The most recent being the permanent addition of formerly EA Access service EA Play to arrive for console and PC users later this holiday season.

Howbeit, timed promotions are still underway according to a recent report. From anime-centered streaming platform Funimation, the firm announces to be offering a new deal for those on Xbox Game Pass. Specifically for the Ultimate bundle offering the gaming catalogue and Xbox Live, subscribers can take advantage of a new promotion gifting two free months of Funimation Premium Plus.

Transcribed by Comic Book, the press release spares that the promotion will be going live starting today, September 25, and will be active until October 25 the following month.

Funimation, the leading global anime content provider, today announced a partnership with Xbox that, beginning Friday, September 25, enables Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to redeem two months of Funimation Premium Plus Subscription at no additional charge.

Funimation’s Premium Plus gives users access to the entire library of content — the latest simulcast shows, exclusive English dubs of series currently airing in Japan and an almost endless catalog of dubbed or subbed anime episodes and movies — all in uninterrupted high-quality video. Funimation is currently streaming fan favorites.

The most surprising segment of this announcement is that Funimation is a direct subsidiary of Sony Pictures. So for the firm to be collaborating with Microsoft is certainly a tale many would not predict. The last major promotion involving Funimation was with Discord offering a free month of the base service back in February.

More recently this week, Microsoft shared that Xbox Game Pass has overtaken another milestone as the service now sits with over 15 million users.
