
Over from Sucker Punch Productions, its latest release for Ghost of Tsushima continues to make waves in recent months. The most surprising happens to be the swift decision for a film adaptation to be on the way. More interesting is that the arrangement also gets a grip on John Wick director Chad Stahelski attached to the production as well.
Currently, casting has yet to be revealed for the film so far. However, in response to the announcement, actor Daisuke Tsuji that portrays Jin Sakai in the video game is adamant to reprise the role for the live-action film. He even backs his dedication to the role to also don the role in anticipation for any potential nudity scenes as well.
From Deadline, progress is being made for Ghost of Tsushima. In that, the production has decided on its screenwriter: Takashi Doscher. Doscher has previously penned the script for 2018’s Still and the 2019 film Only. The writer also finished a screenplay for Japanese monster film Blue most recently.
Ghost of Tsushima stands to be another project in the pipeline within PlayStation Productions. Most recently, it was revealed that the upcoming Twisted Metal TV series is to air uniquely on Peacock when it arrives. Additionally, The Last of Us show for HBO is expected to air for the service later in 2023 next year.
From the impact of the Ghost of Tsushima, especially a film adaptation, the response has even shaken the team at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. In one interview, former producer Daisuke Sato explained that the team is adamant to re-introduce Yakuza Ishin seeing how fondly the industry is to feudal Japan titles.
