Although it does not appear to be much on the surface, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s push for more content on PC has truly improved in 2021 alone. While we witnessed Horizon Zero Dawn & Death Stranding last year in 2020, this year already introduced Days Gone with more emphasized to make its debut for the platform later on.
From a annual earnings report by corporate Sony, the Japanese firm disclosed plans on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to be the next move for PlayStation on PC. It was not until later this summer that Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Legacy Collection. The release will feature the base game alongside Lost Legacy with dedicated support for PC & PlayStation 5.
In a new announcement on Wednesday, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared that God of War has now sold more than 19.5 million copies. Additionally, the game is to expect its release for PC this January. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Our primary goal when bringing God of War to PC was to highlight the exceptional content the team created and leverage the powerful hardware that the platform offers to create a uniquely breathtaking and high-performance version of the game,” Grace Orlady, Santa Monica Studio Sr. Community Manager shares. “You’ll be able to enjoy the full potential of our cinematic, no-cut camera as it follows Kratos and Atreus across the realms with the option of true 4k resolution, on supported devices, and unlocked framerates.
“Our PC version includes a wide range of graphical presets and options so you can fine-tune your visual experience based on your setup. From higher resolution shadows and improved screen space reflections to enhancements to the ambient occlusion pipeline with GTAO and SSDO – God of War on the PC can create striking visual quality unique to the platform.
She continues, “We’re also happy to announce that we will have full integration with NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) available on RTX. You won’t have to sacrifice high graphical settings and output resolutions for high performance in God of War. In addition to DLSS we will also have NVIDIA Reflex low latency technology available. Reflex delivers a more responsive experience allowing you to react quicker and hit harder combos.”
Previously, it was considered extremely farlandish for any PlayStation titles to not be on a platform outside of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s jurisdiction.
