Gotham Knights Developer Shares Job Listing For New Game In DC Comics Universe

While the DC Universe is the ultimate reset for the comic book film franchise, the video game side of things appears to be facing the same fate as well. With the release of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, Warner Bros. has been met with immense weight for the failures of the game. It was reported that the title was roughly a $200 million loss for the firm.

More recently, it appears that developer Rocksteady Studios is moving on already. As part of new wave of layoffs at the developer, it was also indicated that the team has a new project underway. In a newer development from leaker Nick Baker, it is claimed that the team has returned to Batman once more as the core focus, but, with plans to ship the game as a PlayStation exclusive this time around.

What’s more now, it appears that Warner Bros. Montreal is already preparing for its next title. According to a job listing for a Senior Producer, the firm is asking for a candidate to fill the role on “AAA titles set within the DC Comics Universe.” The original listing has since been altered removing the reference to the property.

Gathered from the wording of what exactly is the effort, it appears to be part of the transmedia drive from James Gunn’s DC Universe that ties all media into one cohesive storyline. In the past, Gunn did elaborate that the Arkhamverse will stand separately to the DC Universe. What’s more, this is also independent of the upcoming Monolith Productions Wonder Woman game as well.

Warner Bros. Montreal is most recently known for its work on 2022’s Gotham Knights. “When I think back on the time that I have put into Gotham Knights, I found myself entertained by the story, and I wanted to do every side quest and challenge that I could to build my character to be as strong as possible.
