Since the game’s announcement, the larger notion towards S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 remains to be the reality that the long-awaited follow-up is also shipping on console as well. Especially for remaining a hallmark release on PC for just about a decade, the second mainline entry officially gets unveiled with a brief nod to Xbox as well. However, that might possibly be where the game remains.
According to a statement relayed by GamingBolt, GSC Game World is to only prioritize Xbox hardware with the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. The statement happens to corroborate a previous comment from studio PR manager Zakhar Bocharov who also passes a similar statement in the past as well.
Although S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 did miss the recent ID@Xbox Twitch Showcase, the developer did tell it will share more in the coming weeks. At the Xbox-Bethesda E3 Showcase, GSC Game World spared a new trailer alongside a new release date for next spring. You can watch the new gameplay trailer in the video below:
“The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone is a unique, dangerous and ever-changing environment. It promises a lot — the artifacts of unbelievable value can be yours if you dare to claim them,” the description reads on the listing for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on the Xbox Store. “The price you may pay, on the other hand, is no less than your own life.
“One of the biggest open-worlds to date, filled with radiation, mutants and anomalies, is yours to explore. All the choices across the way not only define your own epic story, but influence the future itself. Be mindful about what you see, do and plan, as you will have to find your way through the Zone or be forever lost to it.”

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 ships on Xbox Series X|S & PC on April 28, 2022.
