Immortals Fenyx Rising Reported To Get Hawaiian Polynesian Spin-off

From the teams at Ubisoft, these developers spend years working on new and unique IP to deliver genuine experiences to its consumers. Moreover, many of these newer properties strand from Assassin’s Creed. For the upcoming Skull & Bones, the firm certainly spruced its inspiration from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which shipped prior to the game’s announcement.

Additionally, Immortals Fenyx Rising is another example of this. From developer Ubisoft Quebec, the team is most notable for its work on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. However, moving forward from the project, the team held close to Ancient Greek mythology and put together Gods & Monsters. The game later received a name change to what we now know today.

Well, it is reported the IP is now expanding to a new setting with its next project to be based on Hawaiian Polynesian heritage. In the Games Mess Decides podcast, GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb shares information from a source familiar with the new project, Video Game Chronicles transcribed.

“Ubisoft Quebec‘s sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising is not a proper sequel. It’s more of a spin-off. The production name of the game is called Oxygen. It’s based on Hawaiian Polynesian culture this time around. It still has a God narrator. They try to still be visually stylised but it’s less of a copy of Breath of the Wild. It’s in early pre-production, seen some concept art, it’s coming maybe 2025.”

In news for other unannounced Ubisoft projects, there are two Assassin’s Creed projects underway. One being Project Red: the title is said to be set in Japan and is part of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The second dubbed ‘Project Rift’ is to be tied to the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla story arc. You can read the full report by heading here.
