One of the largest IPs from the turn of the century has still remained in public view thanks to its recent remaster – Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2. But since the original developer Vicarious Visions was absorbed by Blizzard Entertainment, hope for more titles of the same degree were out of the question. It was even confirmed by Tony Hawk himself that the decision severed chances for a follow-up remaster for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4.
And with 2025 now here, it is not to say skateboarding is not returning. Previously, Full Circle & Electronic Arts confirms the live-service Skate release is to enter early access on consoles & PC later this year. Additionally, there was an update for Tony Hawk titles too. In September, the namesake professional skateboarder did say he is back in discussion with Activision for something new, but could not disclose what.
Now to follow up on the hypothetical new game, one skateboarder has confirmed the game is coming with his involvement in the project. On the Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM, professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones says he is attached in a new Tony Hawk game and it’s another remaster. You can watch the segment of the interview in the video below:
“I’m in a [new] Tony Hawk [game] coming out. So that’s cool – they got a new one they remastering so that’s about to come out,” Jones told on the radio show. “I was in the last one.” Jones was in fact in the last one where he portrayed himself in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2. And with his connection to the 2020 title does entail the next could very likely be Pro Skater 3 + 4 especially if it is a remaster.
Evidently, it is no secret that fans are hungry to revisit the beloved titles from that era of gaming. Upon its release then, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 did shatter records for the franchise becoming the fastest-selling release reaching over one million units sold in its first month.
