While the void to bring new skateboarding simulators to gaming is still a work-in-progress, there is an effort at Electronic Arts to be the center of it. In early 2021, Electronic Arts established Full Circle as a dedicated studio focused on the return for Skate. And with each passing year, new information on the game rolls out. On big reveal is PC will be welcoming Skate upon release.
Additionally, in similar fashion to many other Electronic Arts titles, Skate will be a free-to-play venture. The promise for cosmetic-only purchases and continued post-launch support is the laid foundation for Skate, Full Circle said then. For months now, playtesting has been underway with internal tests that players can sign-up for. More recently, console was added to that mix as well come later this year.
Now with new developments on Skate still coming, Full Circle reveals that Skate is planned to release in 2025. While the full game is not on its itinerary, promise for the Early Access release is the current focus.

From the teaser shared, Full Circle does pledge to elaborate further on what Skate in its Early Access release will include. Under the pretense of ongoing playtesting for PC & console, it is expected that will be extended to all platforms as well in 2025 too. However, the missing portion from this is the scale in which is offered in Early Access. And, of course, how that will differ from the full release.
Amid discussions of more skateboarding titles, Tony Hawk does hint he is in new discussions with Activision on a new collaboration. Speaking on Mythical Kitchen, Hawk discloses a new effort is underway which “will be something the fans will truly appreciate.” You can read the full report by heading here.
