Although many fans anticipate some sort of announcement from Nintendo this month, the firm on Wednesday announced to be hosting its own periodic, titular Direct presentation on Thursday. “Roughly 40 minutes of information focused mainly on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter,” the tweet reads from Nintendo.

So far, many claims regarding Nintendo’s plans revolve around new additions to Nintendo Switch Online’s virtual libraries. In that, claims circulated initially indicating that the firm will welcome Game Boy & Game Boy Color titles to the platform’s service. However, a new statement elsewhere also arose which disclosed additional plans for the Nintendo 64 as well. One filing from the FCC is speculated to be for a controller attachment for the Nintendo Switch as well which further fuels hopes for the Nintendo 64.

Before the airing of the showcase on Thursday, Nintendo appears to leak its own properties ahead of the show. At least one – Kirby: Discovery. Over on the Japanese website it shares that Nintendo is planning to release the unannounced game for this year. Atop of that is also references Bayonetta 3 having a 2022 release window as well, Gematsu reports.

Additionally, the roster aimed for next year also includes previously announced titles as well. Those games include Splatoon 3, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 respectively. For the sake of the new Kirby title, it makes sense since Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai – that also created Kirby – also confirmed Ultimate will not be finding any more characters after Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is concluded.

In recent news regarding Bayonetta 3, PlatinumGames game director Hideki Kamiya told Video Game Chronicles that it is eager to see what fans think of the sequel. But, disclosing said information is not a call to make. You can read the full report by heading here.
