Back in November marked the official first year passed since the release of Death Stranding. The game is a catalyst for what came from the now-cancelled Silent Hills following Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami. While the project liquidated, many of its attributes including the involvement of Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro later carried forward for what later became Death Stranding.
But now with the game behind us alongside the surprise addition to PC later on, it is unsure what the next project from Kojima Productions will be now. For one, lead employees at the Japanese developer has elaborated on the pursuit to create more at Kojima Productions. However, the firm elaborated on entertainment including film and anime in that discussion.
Howbeit, studio founder Hideo Kojima did comment that Death Stranding earned enough to suggest a follow-up. But, he also discloses that one project did “fall apart” in recent months. Despite what is said, Kojima Productions’ Art Director Yoji Shinkawa when speaking on an interview with AI Hub reveals that it next project is due to be revealed soon.
Q: Can you give us any bits or details or maybe hence for your next project.
A: Well yeah, I am doing something, for sure, and I could tell you probably that we can announce it quite soon.
While not much details is spared on the game or what might be on the way, Shinkawa does press that an announcement is very close to happen. Previously, Kojima Productions revealed that a new project is underway and is looking for more hirings to welcome aboard. But, the reveal alike Shinkawa’s statement does not cover what fans can expect next.
Elsewhere concerning Kojima Productions, it was reported that Hideo Kojima could be partnering with Junji Ito on a new project. Ito happened to be a pillar for Silent Hills before the falling out of the project, but this could be redeemed if the alleged horror title evolves into a real release.
