Exploring what is on the horizon for Silent Hill, many are convinced Konami has a bevy of projects underway. According to one string of rumors, the publisher is indicated to contract multiple teams on new projects. For one, it is claimed that Bloober Team (The Medium, Layers of Fear) is to be responsible for a remake for Silent Hill 2.
This seems fairly legitimate with the 2021 deal between Konami & Bloober Team for a new “strategic partnership” established. The claims also referenced a new mainline installment alongside an episodic series set within the Silent Hill universe. This is just some of the subset projects said to be included in the grand scheme of things.
At the recent Silent Hill Transmission, Annapurna Interactive & No Code announces Silent Hill Townfall. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“It’s a real honor for us to bring a new title to the series that both respects the source material, but also does something a little different with it,” No Code creative director Jon McKellan says. “At No Code, we’re all about weaving that narrative and that experience into every aspect of our game design, ouur audio, our visuals, even our UI. So obviously our teaser the teaser trailer is just the beginning.”
Indulging on other announcements that took place during the showcase, Konami & Bloober Team revealed the remake for Silent Hill 2. The game does not have a release date just yet, but Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed it will be a console exclusive to PlayStation 5. You can read the full report by heading here.
