While claims regarding a new Silent Hill game(s) were circulating for over a year, the chances did not appear to be likely after Konami itself began denouncing the claims and Rectify Gaming even summarized the unlikeliness of the rumors then. However, credible sources went on to claim there is titles in the development pipeline that has yet to be revealed after all.

From Gematsu, Silent Hill was said to be in the works with, but under a different firm. Instead, Kojima Productions was said to be helming said project with Sony Interactive Entertainment fronting the bill. The rumor followed a separate story Gematsu corroborates on Konami planning a remake for Metal Gear Solid 3.

From Video Game Chronicles, new information has surfaced from the outlet with more potential clarity on what could be on the way later on. One being the rumor of a remake for Silent Hill 2 which both Jeff Grubb & @NateTheHate2 made apparent on Twitter as the publication’s source later relaying similar information.

The Silent Hill 2 project is told to be helmed by Bloober Team. Additionally, claims on a separate episodic series also resurfaced in the report. However, a definitive candidate for the project was never given from previous sources. In the past, Video Game Chronicles did believe Supermassive Games (The Dark Pictures) was to be involved. But, the new source says Annapurna Interactive is to oversee the project as of late.

More so on the Silent Hill project involving Bloober Team, the firm did make a strategic partnership with Konami in the past. A later interview with IGN revealed its next major focus happens to be Project Black. While a separate (now canceled project) dubbed ‘Dum Spiro’ was in the works, it was put on ice indefinitely. The team also confirmed said Project Black is separate from the upcoming Layers of Fear 2 suggesting it is the Konami project.

Video Game Chronicles ends the story indicating Konami is planning a new mainline entry for Silent Hill. The outlet is confident in its previous report on the game being outsourced to a third-party team based in Japan. The only details possibly linked to the game is a new string of images suggesting the new game to be set in the U.K. You can read the full report by heading here.
