Although Microsoft’s Xbox platform is in a better state than say the launch of its previous Xbox One, the firm still pushes to improve the overall experience. This fall, the Xbox firm welcomed new updates such as noise suppression for party chat alongside introducing an official Discord Voice application to Xbox. And this continues onward as new update ship.

Additionally, Microsoft went as far as to better integrate Xbox Elite 2 Wireless Controller support in September with patchwork that enables owners to change the color in the Xbox LED. Looking beyond into 2023, the team shared it has plans to revamp the Xbox Dashboard on console with an improvement to how it’s structured currently.

This week, a new update launched adding a bevy of improvements. For one, Discord Voice faces better implementation now with connecting to Discord chats directly on console.

Starting today, we’ve made it even easier to chat with Discord friends across mobile, console, and PC. When your Discord account is linked to Xbox, you can now join voice channels from your Discord servers directly from your Xbox console. To try it, open the guide, scroll to Parties & chats, and select Discord. Then scroll through your available Discord servers and pick a voice channel. You’ll see a preview of your friends who are in a Discord server and voice channel before you join.

Elsewhere in the update, it is also indicated that Discord Voice also includes the aforementioned noise suppression feature available on Xbox Party Chat already. Another feature improvement is game captures which welcomes better seamless movement when organizing and editing clips. It was not too long before that the Xbox mobile app featured a capture editor this fall.

“We’ve added a new Captures app to your Xbox. You can find it in the Capture & share tab of the guide, as well as My games & apps, and it offers improved viewing, management, and editing of your game captures. It also lets you copy your game clips and screenshots directly to an external drive. And for better playback quality, Xbox Series X|S consoles now provide an increased bit rate for game clips captured in 720p and 1080p.”

Other noteworthy mentions includes better power settings, the ability to choose which platform you stream from on console, and Xbox Cloud Gaming rumble for PC & Mac. Today, Microsoft also enabled the same support for the Xbox television app in a separate update briefing. You can read the full report by heading here.
