Epic Games’ Fortnite continues to keep itself in the spotlight with new expansions and announcements that outweigh the last. In December, it did so with a trinity of new modes: Lego Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. The three feature each own unique experienced tied to the greater battle royale and gives new meaning to continue exploring the platform.

More specifically, Lego Fortnite entertains users with the expansive number of additions to the game. One being the amount of Lego skins in-game. In total, Lego Fortnite accounts for roughly 1,200 skins at release and that number is to likely increase over time. And much like building & creating in regular Fortnite, many are hoping a general creator mode is on the way to Lego Fortnite.

At the recent Epic Games’ State of Unreal keynote during GDC, where it revealed Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, Epic Games revealed Lego Fortnite will welcome Lego Islands via Fortnite Creative & UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite). You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“Inspired by the LEGO Group’s new LEGO Islands in Fortnite? Well, now Epic Games and the LEGO Group are bringing LEGO Elements including prefabs, devices, tools, and more to Fortnite creators!  LEGO Elements and other LEGO brand assets are now available in Fortnite Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) so creators can build their own LEGO Islands.”

The blog post adds: “All creators who are members of the Island Creator Program and sign the additional terms and conditions can build islands using LEGO Templates, props, consumables, items, and more. Additionally, players in your island will be in the LEGO Style of Fortnite Outfits–Minifigures everywhere!”

Additionally, Lego Fortnite also welcomed a separate ‘Mechanical Mayhem’ update which adds vehicles to the game too. “You know what they say: life isn’t about how fast you reach your destination. It’s about the journey along the way! Mechanical Mayhem introduces three vehicle Builds with their own way of taking you place to place.” The three classes are Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler.
