As of this past few weeks, continued information continued to roll out for the next flagship release from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Although Like a Dragon prequel ‘Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name’ is coming this November, the newest mainline installment in the series – Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – is on the way.
Recently, it was confirmed that the upcoming November-slated title following the aftermath of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is to also include a trial for next year’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. And this week, RGG Studio went onto confirm that the wait between November and the next game is not long as Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is arriving in late January.
However, there is a catch for this newest entry. According to the official Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio website, to access New Game+ in the upcoming Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth requires purchasing add-on content. Yes, either acquiring the Deluxe/Ultimate Edition or separately purchasing the ‘Masters Vacation Pack’ is necessary to create a clear save to start a second run; a feature present in prior entries for no additional cost.
“Use your Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth clear data to play New Game+ in one of three difficulty levels (Normal, Hard, and Legend). Experience the all-new story of the Big Swell and enjoy special outfits and items available only in this bundle,” the description for the DLC pack reads. Howbeit, it is very possible this is rather Sega’s doing than RGG Studio as the firm has issued a similar DLC for Sonic Forces previously to acquire Super Sonic before it went free.
Elsewhere on Thursday, the Xbox Tokyo Game Show presentation confirmed that ‘Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is to launch on Xbox Game Pass later this fall as well as Like a Dragon: Ishin too. You can read the full report by heading here.
