MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Officially Comes To Xbox Next Year

It is no secret, the Xbox platform does not perform the same as its competitors. In fact, its behind both Nintendo & PlayStation. And while it is understood that developers are skipping the platform, that is not a sentiment shared by Capcom. In a recent development, it was revealed that the reasoning for some games missing Xbox is more technical.

Not the Xbox Series S, but at a software level. It was reported that Microsoft did properly end support for Capcom’s legacy game making suite MT Framework – the engine many of its game collections are running under. And that number continues to grow with both MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics & Capcom Fighting Collection 2 absent from releasing on Xbox.

However, a new update was made by Capcom on this situation. Via a post on X, the Japanese publisher shared that after collaborating with Microsoft on the matter, both MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics as well as Capcom Fighting Collection 2 are prepared to release on Xbox One next year; and by extension Xbox Series X|S.

And this is good progress to be made for Capcom fans on Xbox. But, the list of missing titles still remains despite this recent turn of events. Games such as Mega Man Battle Network Collection, Monster Hunter Stories, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles are some. Howbeit, this could be the first step for more of this to continue with new announcements moving forward.

Evidently, Capcom is not for reducing its offering for gaming. In fact, it is one of the firms still vocal about physical releases. In a previous earnings call, the publisher expressed it is nowhere close to excluding physical releases. You can read the full report by heading here.
