Came the end of 2022, another year passed and with it was a fairly light year in terms of first-party Xbox releases. Yes, the platform did excel in its services with Xbox Game Pass – especially with High on Life most recently. But its big swingers – Starfield & Redfall – are on the horizon to ship the year following. But, the wait has been growing longer and longer for a while now.

Currently, Microsoft’s latest battle for more content, its legal battle for Activision Blizzard, faces a new obstacle: the United States government. In that, the Financial Trade Commision (FTC) is filing a lawsuit attacking the acquisition. But more on the topic of upcoming Xbox releases, Starfield was reassured to ship in the first half of 2023 followed by Redfall’s alleged May launch date also.

Not to mention the recent report an upcoming presentation is slated for late January, questions might finally be answered later in the month. In a new announcement on Wednesday, Microsoft shared a new ‘Xbox-Bethesda Developer_Direct’ is slated for the 25th later this month and will feature new information on upcoming Xbox Game Studios titles.

“Presented by the game creators themselves from studios including Arkane Austin, Mojang Studios, Turn 10 Studios, and ZeniMax Online Studios, the Developer_Direct will focus on big features, extended gameplay showcases, and the latest info for Xbox games launching in the next few months, including The Elder Scrolls Online, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and Redfall.”

Note, Microsoft in the Xbox Wire post went on to clarify that the missing Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield title is to receive its own centered presentation following the upcoming showcase. “To dedicate the proper amount of time for a deep dive into Bethesda Game Studios’ Starfield, a standalone show is in the works.”
