While living in the current age of console hardware – namely the Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S – the next step is looking to introduce new initiatives that better the experience for players. Already, it is no secret that Microsoft is collaborating with Dolby to introduce its own software to Xbox. But, this was already established previously that Dolby Atmos would be available on Xbox One in the past.

However, there has yet to be a jump to PlayStation as of writing. Furthermore, the jump to Dolby Vision is also among us. In that, a select number of games received that feature in the Skip Ahead ring for Xbox Insiders. But, Microsoft in a later update announced that the greater Xbox Insider rings will also expect the feature to be patched in last month as well.

In an Xbox Wire blog post in France, Microsoft disclosed that the arrangement to bring Dolby propriety programs to Xbox is an exclusive deal. But, in a later statement gathered by The Verge’s Tom Warren expels the claim to be untrue.

So, although Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos is currently found on Xbox, that does not implicate Microsoft paid to make the software exclusive: more so the product has yet to arrive to other consoles. Seeing the skyrocketing performance of the PlayStation 5, it is likely Dolby does not want to miss out on the opportunity for Sony’s system.

Additionally, it was also uncovered that Halo Infinite is also planned to be Dolby-enabled for both Dolby Atmos & Dolby Vision. According to the official Dolby page, which has now been deleted, the game is said to support the feature on console as well as PC. The integrity of the finding is preserved in an image saved by @klobrille on Twitter.

This is not the first time many mistaken Microsoft for buying its way to propping its platform up. Previously, it was understood a deal was arranged between the Xbox company and battery manufacturer Duracell. But, it was later learned not the be the case when Microsoft told its decision to still use batteries or charging kits is a choice for the consumer. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you hoping Dolby programs come to other systems?
