While Netflix is continuing to be viewed as the prophet child for delivering new and exciting video game adaptations including television shows and movies, the firm is working especially close with Capcom to offer new productions to its platform. For 2021, Netflix & Capcom already shipped Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness at the start of the summer. But, the plans do not dry up there.
Although the current knowings are very slim, there is an upcoming live-action Resident Evil television series underway. The production is told to feature both Jade & Billie Wesker, half-twin daughters of Albert Wesker. Atop of that, there is still the long-awaited arrival for Adi Shankar’s Devil May Cry. Shankar was previously responsible as an executive producer for Castlevania, so hopes are high for the new project.
In a new announcement on Friday, Netflix announced to be shadowdropping another Capcom-tied production, Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild. The first trailer was released more than a month ago, but now the hour-long feature is available to stream on Netflix. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“In a world where humans and fearsome monsters live in an uneasy balance, young hunter Aiden fights to save his village from destruction by a dragon,” the description for the release reads on Netflix’s website. The production is said to cast Ben Rausch (Mr. Robot), Erica Lindbeck (thundercats Roar) as Lea, and Dante Basco ( Star Wars Rebels) as Aiden.
Previously, Netflix officially announced its pursuit into the video game market. While unclear exactly if it will be delivering first-party release, the firm did disclose that it is to provide a library of titles to its subscribers at no additional cost.
