Although Capcom’s Monster Hunter World left a lasting impression when it released, it was inevitable a sequel would spruce from its success. “[Monster Hunter World] is easily one of Capcom’s best games in years, and one of the best Monster Hunter titles in a very long time,” what Rectify Gaming wrote in its review for the game.
And in late 2023, Capcom officially announced Monster Hunter Wilds. Now aiming to release later this month on February 28th, players are eager to get their hands on the full game. And well, some already did when the publisher held an open beta for the game last year. However, Capcom is not entirely finished with public testing for Monster Hunter Wilds.
This week, the next batch of open beta sessions will be going live. Yes, plural: there will be two windows to play Monster Hunter Wilds. You can view the full schedule below:
- PT: Thursday, February 6th 2025 7:00pm – Sunday, February 9th, 2025 6:59 p
- PT: Thursday, February 13th, 2025 7:00 pm – Sunday, February 16th, 2025 6:59 pm
“Ahead of the game’s full release on February 28, 2025, we held an open beta test in November 2024. In response to requests from players who were unable to participate the first time or simply wish to play again, we’ve decided to hold a second open beta test. OBT 2 adds some new content to enjoy, as well as new bonuses for participating, which can be claimed in the full version. We hope you consider participating.”
Capcom will feature content from the first open beta alongside new incentives to play for this new string of playtests. Atop of that, you progress and character creation will also be available to retrieve in the full game too. “You can also carry over your character creation data into the full version, so use this chance to design your perfect hunter and Palico.”
The firm also leaves a message to those who are to participate: “To all hunters, we can’t thank you enough for joining in the hunt! Our entire development team is hard at work reviewing your valuable feedback and focusing on improving the full version of the game. However, please bear in mind that these improvements, including performance, game balance, weapon mechanics, known issues and more will not be reflected in the OBT 2 build. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to you experiencing these improvements and adjustments in the full version at launch. The following changes are planned to be implemented in the full game.”
