Konami as a publisher appears to have flipped the script when it comes to Silent Hill. Earlier this year, it was perceived the firm did not care about the property as a whole. But when announcing the Silent Hill Transmission, the Japanese company did not hold back. For one, Silent Hill 2 is being remade with Bloober Team at the helm. Furthermore, the game will launch exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Moreover, Silent Hill Townfall is also in development by Stories Unfold & Observation team No Code. Additionally, the series is also stepping back into entertainment. Christophe Gans (Silent Hill 2006) is working on a new movie titled ‘Return to Silent Hill’ which adapts the story of Silent Hill 2. And Genvid with Behaviour Interactive, Dj2 Entertainment is working on Silent Hill Ascension – an interactive streaming series with JJ Abrams attached as director.

Closing out the presentation, Konami and NeoBards Entertainment announces Silent Hill f. You can watch the cinematic trailer in the video below:

“Silent Hill f – will be a completely new story set in 1960’s Japan featuring a beautiful, yet horrifying world. Written by Ryūkishi07, famed for Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries, psychological and supernatural horror,” Konami writes for the synopsis of the game in the trailer’s description.

Motoi Okamoto is also noted to be involved in development for Silent Hill f as a producer. Okamoto is noted for his work previously on Pikmin 1 & 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi’s Mansion, and Wii Fit over at Nintendo. The trailer does appear to coincide with a previous report which stated the game to be set in the U.K. You can read the full report by heading here.
