No Man’s Sky Frontiers Update Welcomes Settlement Building

More than two years ago, Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky was truly revolutionized with the new ‘Beyond’ update at the time. While the game was initially advertised to feature full-length multiplayer in an ever-expansive universe to map out, the mechanic was never integrated. But, after a development overhaul to the base release, that among other tools were introduced since then.

In 2021, Hello Games went on to introduce new title updates like the self-explanatory ‘Companions’ Update earlier this year alongside the much later ‘Expeditions’ Update that reforges how you play No Man’s Sky. In the middle of then and now, the team also collaborated with BioWare to feature Mass Effect’s Normandy SR1 as well.

From Hello Games this week, the latest ‘Frontiers’ Update arrives bringing a new definition to inhabiting alien planets. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“Become Overseer of your very own procedurally generated alien settlement in update 3.6, Frontiers,” the overview reads from the official website. “Make choices, guide your citizens, develop new structures and defend your people from the Sentinels. Or, take advantage of a massive overhaul of base building to construct your own dream base.”

As depicted from the trailer, settlement building is the main focus when making home on planets throughout the stars. Not only has the base building feature been rebuilt from the ground up, but it has also welcomed now more than 250 base pieces also. Additionally, there is town NPC AI that has been integrated to breathe life into your new bases as well.

Additionally, No Man’s Sky is to also feature minor improvements to the game in the new update including more save slots and upgrades to world destruction. Previously, Hello Games went on to flag in new graphical enhancements to No Man’s Sky with the ‘Prisms’ Update. You can read the full report by heading here.
