So far for 2023, Microsoft has started off on a strong note with its first showcase. In late January, the Xbox firm held its first Developer_Direct showcasing upcoming titles including Minecraft Legends, Forza Motorsport, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Redfall. Not to mention the surprising and charismatic shadowdrop from Tango Gameworks – Hi-Fi Rush.
Looking ahead, Microsoft is not done so soon. With a full year ahead, the company already confirmed another showcase is on the way. For Bethesda Game Works’ Starfield, the title is to receive its own presentation. So far, there is still no concrete release date for the 2023 title. From IGN, Microsoft will not be attending E3, but is likely to host its own Xbox+Bethesda Showcase once again.
From publisher Paradox Interactive, the Swedish firm is to host its own presentation next week and will be presenting with Xbox as an official partner. “I don’t want to say we have too many announcements, but it’s hard to choose which one has me most thrilled,” Fredrik Wester, Paradox Interactive CEO says.
“Talking directly with our players about our games, sharing their excitement for what’s coming next, comparing how many hours we’ve played – it’s something everyone at Paradox profoundly enjoys. I’m also eager not to have to keep these announcements secret for much longer.” Wester adds for his statement.
“The show, presented in partnership with Xbox, will premiere on Paradox’s YouTube and Twitch channels, and will include the debut of new games from Seattle-based Harebrained Schemes, the master storytellers behind The Shadowrun Trilogy and BATTLETECH; Paradox Tectonic, the Berkeley-based studio working with industry veteran Rod Humble; and Colossal Order, the Tampere-based developers of the genre-leading global hit Cities: Skylines.”
