In the past, we have witnessed Microsoft collaborate with product manufacturers such as Razer and 8BitDo in promotion for coming support to the platform. Or simply even to integrate more recognized brands to the Xbox ecosystem, the firm is very transparent for its consumers to be comfortable on Xbox systems with their respected devices and accessories.
But as we draw close to the next-generation of hardware with the Xbox Series X, fans begin to conjure if their belongings will be able to follow onto the new console. And while the first-party set of devices from Microsoft such as the definitive Xbox One controller is already confirmed to be supported for Xbox Series X, Microsoft is kicking off a new campaign to better suit players for the new unit with their same accessories.
Announcing the ‘Designed for Xbox’ initiative, Microsoft has partnered with over 30 manufacturers to solidify player accessories be supported when the Xbox Series X arrives. You can read the full list of firms reference in the announcement below:

“Designed for Xbox is working hard with our partners to ensure continuous compatibility across as many products as possible,” Alex Nunn, Senior Program Manager shares in the new announcement. “Any officially licensed Xbox One accessory that connects to your console wired or wirelessly via USB will work on Xbox Series X. Additionally, any headsets that connects via your Xbox Wireless Controller’s 3.5mm port will also be supported.”
Microsoft does clarify that some devices that require an optical cable might need a firmware update to properly utilize chat and audio when in use. What Microsoft wants users to take from the new initiative is the branded badge that signifies which items will be classified as a universal device between console generations as well as PC and mobile.
