From publisher Ubisoft, the firm is currently in the spotlight with its recent announcement regarding Assassin’s Creed. The IP’s latest entry – Assassin’s Creed Mirage – is set to release later this October. Additionally, at the Meta Quest Showcase the firm teased its upcoming VR project Assassin’s Creed Nexus. More is promised to be spared at this Monday’s Ubisoft Forward presentation.

In regards to the precursor of Assassin’s Creed, there was an update on Prince of Persia. The remake for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was revealed to restart development. In that, Ubisoft Montreal shared after mantling the helm as main developer from Ubisoft Pune & Ubisoft Mumbai, the game once again entered the concept phase essentially confirming a full on reset for the project.

And out of left field to kick off Summer Game Fest on Thursday, Ubisoft & Ubisoft Montpellier unveiled Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. You can watch the gameplay trailer in the video below:

“Introducing a new hero named Sargon, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a fast-paced, 2.5D Metroidvania-inspired adventure steeped in elements of ancient Persian mythology,” Ubisoft writes for the brief overview of the new title. The game illustrates a similar approach to the previous Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy which featured characters from China, India, and Russia.

Another surprise announcement from Summer Game Fest happened to be the reveal for Sonic Superstars. Fans can enjoy a new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog experience as the title embraces the upgraded visuals and gameplay elements. You can read the full report by heading here.
