Rise Of The Triad Returns With New ‘LUDICROUS Edition’ Later This Month

Although the doom shooter genre remains in a special place for the video game industry, the original titles that shaped what first-person shooters are today still remain a pinnacle for many players decades later. More recently, we’ve seen successors hit modern hardware with titles like Wrath: Aeon of Ruin ships in the past.

Additionally, 3D Realms is also expanding on this approach with new titles on pre-existing characters. In that, Ion Fury which previously released features Bombshell – a character who was casted in a Duke Nukem game that never made it to the final cut with the fallout of Duke Nukem Forever. Even more, the classic Duke Nukem even welcomed a ‘30th Anniversary’ edition as well.

To continue on this trend, Apogee Entertainment & Nightdive Studios is preparing to re-introduce Rise of the Triad with a new ‘LUDICROUS Edition’ coming later this July. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:

This week, Rise of the Triad: LUDICROUS Edition also resurfaced in a new showcase. As part of the Limited Run Games 2023 Showcase, the title is featured on a list of two dozen+ projects that will be receiving physical releases. You can read the full report by heading here.
