While many claims in the past continued to flood out in turn for hope of a new Silent Hill game being in development, it did not take long for IP holder Konami to denounce any statements on the status of the franchise. In that, the firm deplatformed a report from Rely on Horror which cited a new arrangement between Konami & Sony Interactive Entertainment was arranged for a new installment aimed to release on PlayStation 5.
The same report also insisted that the initially planned Silent Hills was also being resurrected for a second go. In that, Konami was said at the time to be renegotiating with Kojima Productions to establish a cordial relationship with the developer. Howbeit, the Japanese game studio later commented that any statements of the team’s involvement with Konami is simply untrue.
In a new string of reports this week, Konami is back on the radar with stories indicating that reworkings for both Castlevania alongside Metal Gear Solid 3 is to be on the way. In extension to that, Gematsu goes on to report that Silent Hill is also to be finding a new game. Although not directing if the project is a new game or a complete reboot as rumored previously, the title is organized a little differently.
According to the source that spoke with Gematsu familiar with the project, Kojima Productions are said to be helming the game. But, not through Konami it appears. Instead, Sony Interactive Entertainment is told to be funding the venture instead of the property holder. The outlet tells the project to coincide with Video Game Chronicles claim made earlier this year as Konami outsources the series to a prominent Japanese developer.
Elsewhere recently, Konami has also announced a new partnership with Polish developer Bloober Team. After a handful of thrilling titles hitting storefronts, it is suggested that the team is to be working on a potential Silent Hill project as well. You can read the full report by heading here.
