Understanding the ongoing climate that Sega is developing for its users, the firm has answered some aspects of what the final result will be. Since last December, the firm has been transparent via its ‘New Energy’ campaign to reignite the alternative reputation that Sega was synonymous with during its Dreamcast release. Additionally, the firm is also looking to battle giants like Disney in transmedia as well revealed more recently.
As for its titles, the firm is certainly experimenting with new approaches as seen with titles such as Project Century from Ryu Ga Gotoku and the upcoming Jet Set Radio Remake. Additionally, the publisher also pressed that plans for its future does dispose of any hope for retro throwbacks. This, unfortunately, includes chances of more mini consoles like the Dreamcast & Sega Saturn as many anticipated.
What’s more, plans for a Sega subscription service has also been reported to be underway internally at the Japanese firm. As to what that entails entirely has yet to be properly disclosed. Although, Sega this week revealed that a new ‘Sega Account’ system is now live to integrate your experience in a collective hub for rewards and other promotions.
