Running off of the fumes from Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter which release predating back to 2016, it was due for a new game from the California-based developer at some point. More excitingly, the unnamed project receive a surprise announcement back in June 2020 at the PlayStation 5 showcase – revealing Solar Ash.
While not much was elaborated on the core details of the project at the time, Solar Ash was featured to be an open-world adventure which broke from the two-dimensional elements recognized with the team’s first release years ago. Now in a new trailer at CES 2021, the coming game is said to arrive right at the start of the summer.
In the subtext at the end of the trailer, it reads “Solar Ash: June 2021”. You can watch the full PlayStation 5 promo trailer in the video below:
The announcement for the Heart Machine project is also paired with other highly-anticipated releases as well. Such as Luminous Productions’ Project Athia now slated to hit shelves later in January 2022. Additionally, the trailer also unveils Capcom’s Pragmata now being scheduled to release in 2023 – a year following its initial release date.
Funny enough, there is another Annapurna Interactive-published game featured in the trailer. That being BlueTwelve Studio’s Stray which is now set to ship later this fall in October 2021. You can read the full report by heading here.
