On the spectrum of Sonic the Hedgehog transmedia content, the Sega mascot remains steadily busy in the past year. Last spring, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 hit theaters becoming of the biggest movies to release that year. Additionally, Paramount also confirmed the sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, is set to hit theaters in December 2024 later on.
Even more, this past December welcomed Sonic Prime on Netflix which shatters the universe of Sonic the Hedgehog we know. But that is not the only television show on the way. In fact, Paramount+ has already begun filming on the upcoming live-action Knuckles TV series which features Idris Elba reprising his role & film director Jeff Fowler filming the pilot episode for the new show.
At the recent Sonic Central, Sega revealed the new trailer for Sonic Prime Season 2. You can watch the footage in the video below:
Adding on to the arrangement with Netflix, a new Sonic the Hedgehog game is coming to the game tab for the streaming service. In that, Sonic Prime Dash is set to release as well. “Sonic Dash, the original endless running game on mobile is making its official debut exclusively for Netflix as ‘Sonic Prime Dash’ and will launch alongside the new season of ‘Sonic Prime’.”
Elsewhere during the presentation, Sonic Team also featured the ‘Sonic’s Birthday Bash Update’ for Sonic Frontiers. The content patch featured the new spin dash skill, new game+, and a birthday make over to the overall islands of the base game. You can read the full report by heading here.
