Reflecting back to the first PlayStation 5 showcase in June, fans were shaken by the announcements that were made for the next-generation PlayStation 5. Titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and closing with Horizon Forbidden West. All three titles were deemed to be unique releases for the new console with release dates projected to arrive sometime in the months after the system launches.
Howbeit, the firm following today’s recent PlayStation 5 showcase shares that the aforementioned games will not be unique to just PlayStation 5 anymore. Instead, the listed titles will not be arriving simultaneously for both PlayStation 5 and its predecessor, PlayStation 4.
We know that the PS4 community will transition to PS5 at different times, and we’re happy to announce PS4 versions of some of our exclusives. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4.
While these three games were designed to take advantage of PS5 and its unique next-gen features like the ultra-high-speed SSD and DualSense controller, PS4 owners will also be able to enjoy these experiences when they launch. The PS4 digital versions of launch games include a free upgrade on both PS5 consoles, while the PS4 disc versions of these games include a free upgrade on the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray disc drive.

Developer Insomniac Games dropped the ball that same time elsewhere on its Twitter account today. But it surely is baffling to realize that after months of advertising for these titles to be definitive reasons to purchase a PlayStation 5, all will be available for purchase on the current system. Thankfully, the firm is offering cross-gen upgrades for no additional cost.
In the same report, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales already listed to launch for PlayStation 5, Sony Interactive Entertainment also shares that Sackboy A Big Adventure will also be shipping day one as well. And of course, this is divided between that two November 12 and November 19 release dates based on specific regions.
As for the remaining Horizon Forbidden West, the game is still projected to arrive in 2021. In a trailer following the game’s original unveiling, Guerrilla Games’ director Mathijs de Jonge shared that the title will be arriving in 2021 next year. You can read the full report by heading here.
