Supermassive Games Reveals The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me

In regards to the current development pipeline for Supermassive Games, the developer just concluded on its recent project for The Dark Picture Anthology, House of Ashes. However, the team also had other work it planned previous to the announcement of the latest release. More than a year ago, Google announced a development partnership with multiple teams including Supermassive Games for Stadia at the time.

However, the firm later went on to disband its internal development team, Stadia Games and Entertainment. With that also relinquished promised plans for its announced partnerships alongside an unannounced game with Harmonix and Journey to the Savage Planet 2. Thankfully, previously acquired Typhoon Games announced to be forming under a new banner, Raccoon Logic, and obtains the rights to Journey to the Savage Planet.

Recently, Supermassive Games shared its next set of plans for The Dark Picture Anthology hinting at its next release dubbed ‘The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me’. You can watch the footage in the video below:

Alike previous installments, each ends with a brief trailer of what hints towards the next game revealing the title for the new project. Currently, there is no expected release for The Devil in Me. But if it follows the trend of the last two games, there is the chance October 2022 will be the expected launch window. Noted, The Devil in Me is marked as ‘Season One Finale’ in the trailer.

Previously in an interview with Game Informer, Supermassive Games shared its plans ahead of the release for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan spans across roughly 8 games in mind. At the time too, Managing Director Pete Samuels told the developer is to continue making games for the series until Bandai Namco essentially cuts funding.
