Xbox Game Pass Console Users Generated Roughly $2.9 Billion In 2021 For Microsoft, Report Reveals

Although Microsoft is understood to take capital ventures regularly, the firm alike most companies are after one thing – long-term profit. While some ambitions came to be unflatterty when looking at financial reports, one of its most expensive efforts is gaming. Xbox has and continues to pump millions in possible turnout and it appears its current endeavor is doing such.

Back in January, Microsoft revealed that Xbox Game Pass has surpassed more than 25 million subscribers. Not only that, but increased revenue is expected with more players joining and the addition of a family plan; started as a soft launch in Ireland & Colombia. Additionally, when players learn they can soon stream their entire purchase library on their phone via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate later this fall, that number could continue to shoot up.

According to a new report with information gathered by TweakTown, the overall grossed revenue for Xbox Game Pass in 2021 alone was roughly $2.9 billion from console subscribers. You can view the chart in the image below:

As illustrated in the image, Xbox Game Pass, for console that is, stands to be a pillar in the greater scheme of things for Microsoft. The overall grossed profit from the entirety of Xbox in 2021 stretches over $16.28 billion. In a report from Axios Gaming last fall, Xbox Game Pass is the first measured attribute from Xbox to be aligned with other Microsoft services in other sectors which illustrates the influence it has brought.

While total investments was not shared in terms of what was spent in 2021 for Xbox Game Pass, the return for players was reported to be roughly $6,300 in total for the games that was added then. But as more continues to roll out for Xbox Game Pass, it is understood Microsoft will not hesitate as even CEO Satya Nadella claims the firm is “all-in on gaming” with this new console generation.

On one last note, Microsoft has prevailed to being the most successful game library service with Xbox Game Pass in one report from Ampere Analysis. In the piece, the firm obtained more than half of the market landscape with Xbox Game Pass alone when competing against PlayStation Now, Ubisoft+, EA Play, and Apple Arcade combined.
